Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with non-stick spray or line it with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix until smooth and creamy.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Pour in the vanilla extract and mix until fully incorporated.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, ground ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
If using, fold in the chopped walnuts and dark chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 25-30 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick; it should come out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
Allow the blondies to cool in the pan on a wire rack for at least 10 minutes before cutting into squares.
Notes
Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar and garnished with chocolate chips or walnuts.
