3tablespoonsmilk (or your favorite dairy-free alternative)
2tablespoonscreamy or crunchy peanut butter
1tablespoonvegetable oil
0.5teaspoonpure vanilla extract
1tablespoonchocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
In a microwave-safe mug, carefully add the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Use a small whisk or fork to thoroughly mix the dry ingredients until they are well combined, ensuring there are no pockets of cocoa powder or flour.
Pour in the milk, creamy or crunchy peanut butter, vegetable oil, and pure vanilla extract into the mug with the dry mixture. Stir vigorously until the batter is smooth, with no lumps remaining. For a delightful richness, fold in a tablespoon of chocolate chips at this stage.
Place the mug in the microwave and heat on high for approximately 1 minute and 30 seconds. Keep an eye on the cake as it cooks, checking around the 1-minute mark. The cake should rise nicely and appear set with a slightly moist center when done.
Once cooked, allow the mug cake to cool for about a minute before indulging. You can savor it as is or elevate the experience by adding a dollop of peanut butter, a swirl of whipped cream, or even a scoop of ice cream as a decadent topping.
Notes
Serve straight from the mug or transfer to a plate with toppings for an elevated experience.
